My Core Values
My educational philosophy is UNLESS SOMEONE LIKE YOU CARES A WHOLE AWFUL LOT, |
During my past thirty-plus years of educational training, professional work, community involvement and my parenting experience, I have fostered some core values for education. I have applied these core values as principles for my professional and community education services. These core values will also help guide my school committee actions. I BELIEVE: EVERY child is special and has his/her unique development path. EVERY child is curious and interested in learning and growing. EVERY child has potential to be successful and productive. EVERY child is entitled to a safe and caring environment. PARENTS are their child’s first and primary teachers and caretakers. SCHOOLS provide a child’s most influential learning environment. TEACHERS play a key role in their students" intellectual development. COMMUNITY should work together to strive for educational excellence to raise our children. I VALUE: UNDERSTANDING a child’s unique learning styles/needs INTEGRATED intellectual, personal and social development SUSTAINABLE achievement for a child’s learning and growth PROACTIVE involvement in all aspects of children’s learning and growth activities I FOCUS ON C-A-R-E: Communication—meaningful interaction with our children, schools, and communities
Appreciation—empathetic understanding and enjoying the strength of our children, families, schools, and communities Responsibility—striving for a supportive environment for quality education of our children, students, and communities Enjoyment—ensuring a happy and healthy learning and growing path for our children and students “WE CARE means appreciation and celebration of a whole child.” |
